Internet Cookies

HTTP cookies are necessary for modern Internet use, yet they pose a risk to your privacy. HTTP cookies are a crucial component of web browsing since they allow web developers to provide you with more personalized and convenient website visits. Cookies allow websites to remember you, your logins, shopping carts, and other information. They can, however, be a gold mine of personal information for cybercriminals to pry on. (Kaspersky, 2022)

 -What are cookies?

Cookies are text files containing small bits of information — such as a username and password — that are used to identify your computer when you connect to the internet. HTTP cookies are used to identify and improve your web browsing experience by allowing you to identify specific users. (Kaspersky, 2022)

When you connect to the server, the server creates data in a cookie. This information is identified by a number that is unique to you and your computer. (Kaspersky, 2022)

When your computer and the network server exchange cookies, the server reads the ID and knows what information to provide you personally. (Kaspersky, 2022)

UI

In a device, the user interface (UI) is the point of interaction and communication between the user and the computer. Display screens, keyboards, mouse, and the appearance of a desktop are all examples of this. It can also refer to the way a user interacts with software or a website. (Churchville, 2022)

Because of the increasing reliance of many businesses on the web and mobile applications, UI has become a higher priority for many firms to improve the user's entire experience. (Churchville, 2022)

There are various types of User Interfaces (UI)

-Touch UI

-Graphical UI

-Voice UI

-Command Line UI

-Natural language UI

-Menu-driven UI

They tend to be user-centered designs (UCD) that focus on the users and their requirements. Software such as Dropbox and Airbnb, display powerful UI designs. (Churchville, 2022)

Page source

The original text and HTML elements (UI Components) typed by the author and processed by the browser to make the Web page you view on the Internet are referred to as page sources. (Brain, 2022)

Meta Tags

Meta tags are sections of HTML code that contain data about a website. The information is not available on the website. Certain meta tags are accessed by search engines so that they can display a page title and description in the search results. (Wordstream, 2022)

The main difference between tags you can see and tags you can't see is their location: meta tags are only visible to search engines because they only exist in HTML, usually at the "head" of the page (and people who know where to look). The "meta" stands for "metadata," which is the type of information provided by these tags - information about the information on your page. (Wordstream, 2022)

jQuery

jQuery is a public JavaScript library that makes it easier to create and navigate online applications. jQuery makes HTML Document Object Model (DOM) manipulation, Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax), and event handling easier. jQuery also incorporates JavaScript functionality by altering CSS properties to produce effects like fade-ins and fade-outs to website elements. Thousands of user-created plug-ins support jQuery, a widely used JavaScript library. (Techtarget, 2022)

By allowing users to discover, select, and manipulate elements with specified properties, jQuery will make DOM manipulation easier. Users can also edit the characteristics of elements and react to events. Without needing to reload the web page, jQuery may use Ajax to transmit data between browsers and servers. An event handler is a component that gets an object when an event occurs. The event handler specifies the type of event and calls a DOM element function to prevent the event from taking effect. Sizzle, jQuery's selector engine, provides the syntax for these simplifications. Sizzle is a CSS selector engine that can search across the DOM for certain items. (Techtarget, 2022)

Hyperlinks

In an HTML document, a hyperlink is an element that links to another part of the document or to a different document altogether. Hyperlinks are usually purple or blue in color and are sometimes underlined on online sites. (Technopedia, 2022)

A hyperlink is an interface that connects a source to the desired location. The target can be reached by clicking the hyperlink at the source. Hyperlinks can take on one of the following forms:

-Text

-Images

-URLs

-Controls (as Button)
